A girl can dream..

WOW my mind has been so preoccupied this week! So much so that I was oblivious to the fact that the Vogue Festival has already been and gone in the blink of an eyelid. Although I have been able to gain an idea of the goings on through reading the many updates that vogue (Hallelujah!) continued to post over the two day period. It seems like a whirlwind of exquisitely dressed models and inspiring interviews that stripped some of the most established models such as Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington Whitley and Jordan Dunn raw and showed listeners that modelling is a tough job and an even more excruciating job to get into. Oh get me getting carried away again! The Vogue festival gives fashion lovers the chance to witness their favorite designers and models in a unique way, where there are no barriers and the talk can range from fashion to the social lives of some of the most of the moment models. It took place from the 29-30 March and involved discovering the realities of being a model to a masterclass in how to work in the fashion industry. To some this could be seen as dull but personally I think it would be an extremely inspirational experience, and for someone hoping to work in the fashion industry the festival would be more massively beneficial. It's safe to say I will be purchasing my ticket for the two day extravaganza as soon as they go on sale next year, so here's a summary of the events that occurred at the most talked about festival in the fashion industry of 2014:

Self Made Millionaire Tory Burch revealed that fashion didn't really "interest her" as a teen and called herself a "tomboy", making millions of women feel at ease towards their not so glamorous ensembles they've happened to rock throughout their lifetime .
Valentino shared some of his experiences and revealed that London's shops are "temptation" for him, it became clear why he is such a successful designer as he has lived through multiple eras and has had experiences we could only dream of. "Travelling to Spain with a Fashion house" he worked with sounds much more like play than work!

Four of the most of the minute models gathered for talks on their current plans as well as their pasts, with Naomi Campbell revealing she was not pretty growing up, proving to millions of young girls that you can do anything you want and that success is always an option.

The festival audience had the chance to walk the Harrods catwalk themselves, giving everyone the chance to channel their inner catwalk model.

Sucessful editors and directors alike took the stage to discuss how to get into working in the fashion industry, from what they look for in employers to advice on how to stay sane in times of crisis. It became clear that like many average employers personality is everything and in the eyes of these successors a firm handshake and some chat is enough to show employers in the industry that you are serious and employable.

I know it sounded amazing right?! When I first heard about the festival through my subscription to the magazine I will not lie to you my first thought was Naomi can sing? What other models will be strutting their stuff in front of a microphone for this "fest? But when I learnt a little more about the concept behind the festival I was more than intrigued, and just more than a little annoyed that I had waited too long to grab myself a pair of tickets.
